Planning Seafood Processing until 2020

(VEN) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made public Decision 1690/QD-TTg on September 16, 2010, adopting the Strategy for Seafood Development in Vietnam until 2020, with a goal for the seafood industry to contribute 30-35 percent to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the agriculture-forestry-fishery sector; production to increase 8-10 percent annually; and export earnings to come to US$8-9 billion. Following this strategy, the Seafood Development Consultant and Planning Center recently presented an overall development plan for seafood processing in Vietnam until the year 2020.
